Kevin Cahoon is a Broadway actor and it?s not surprising to know that he played the title role of Hedwig in Hedwig and The Angry Inch in New York. Indeed, his album ?Doll? definitely has a Hedwig feel. Whether the songs sound poppy glam punk (?Doll?, ?Could I Have This Dance?) or 70s glitter rock (?Fashionista??), they will remind you of the movie. ?Good Times Gone Bad? is a ballad in which you can hear a bit of Brian Molko in the vocals, ?Saved By The Beauty? combines both melody and power like in your favourite 70s records and ?Star Ballad? is a beautiful Bowie influenced ballad. So there?s no doubt that the Children of the Revolution should find everything they need in this CD. ?Doll? is not a tribute album to Hedwig but, like the movie, there?s a heartfelt feeling in it, something that makes you feel less alone while listening to it, something that makes all of us glitter boys and girls look at the stars with Ziggy?s reflection in our eyes./Laurent
