The MASONS are not an easy band to describe even after listening to them a few times. The first song on this live split CD, "Midnight Hour" sounds a bit like a cross between the RAMONES and The MISFITS but as soon as"Oklahoma" starts, you realize that these guys have more than one string to their bow, also taking their influences from the 60s to the 70s and blues with a crazy chaotic psychobilly twist. They sometimes remind me of the amazing 80s MATCHBOX B-LINE DISASTER.
The MASONS will be on tour in October in Europe so don't miss them!
SMALLSTONE share their vocalist/guitarist with The MASONS so they aren't too different, probably just a bit more 60s and minimalist in their musical approach./Laurent.
