'Voracious Appetite, Venomus Bite'

posted 2010-05-20

Debut album on Nicotine records for France's FLASHFALCON. The album cover isn't really what you would expect from such a band, it would probably fit some obscure screamo band better, but well at least it's not cliché and we all know that we can't judge a book by its cover, don't we?... Rocking heavy guitars and punk hardcore influenced vocals is what you will find on this voracious venomous album. Songs like "Let's Start Tonight" or "Eternal Lonesome Boy" prove that the band has been widely influenced by the Scandinavian scene and especially by The HELLACOPTERS and TURBONEGRO.
FLASHFALCON also has a heavier side on tracks like "One Day After The Other" or "God Damnit" and show that they can rock hard in the punk'n'roll territory as well ("You Ain't No Good (For Rock)", "Trailer Park Queen" or "Guts On Fire".) Good surprise comes with "Last Rain" that reminds me a bit of SILVER.
All in all, you get a pleasant album that you will probably love if you like the hardest side of Scandinavian rock. Personally, I'm not a big fan of this kind of vocals but this shouldn't spoil the fun./Laurent.
