These guys from Italy released their album on vinyl (Bondage Rec.) and that's already a good point (but those of you who want the CD version will be able to get it from Zodiac Killer records.) Then, as soon as "Too Much For The City" starts with its Johnny Ramone kind of guitar riff and angry teenage chorus, you know that those Italian LIPS must be right! And you know what? The guitars also have this Johnny Thunders sound we all love here!
The BOYS, the DEAD BOYS and the BRIEFS also come to mind while listening to these 9 songs and the fact that most vocals are sung by two voices gives more power to the songs and choruses. Just listen to "I Gotta Run", "Can't Take It (No More)", "You're More Than" or "Rich Bitch" and you'll know what the IDOL LIPS are all about! They sing "I'm gonna kick your ass" and you should believe them!
The band also just released a new 7" with a cool stripped glammy punk layout on which you'll find their new single "Love Hurts" and two other songs ("Take Me To Your Party", a song with killer NEW YORK DOLLS style guitars and "We're Desperate".) It says "This one is for Johnny and Jerry" on the cover", you should believe me when I'm telling you that these guys can't be wrong!/Laurent.
