Cherry Lips are a young Italian all girl band on a Swedish record label (Swedmetal.) they list AC/DC, AEROSMITH and The WHO as their influences, that can't be wrong, right?
the second song on this album shows that CHERRY LIPS is not only a classic rock influenced band, "Haunted" has a dark pop feel and a guitar riff reminding me of The CULT while the one on "Right Now" reminds me more of The STOOGES and "Stop Messin' Around", "Heartbreaker" or "On My Own" show the band's interest in glam rock. These girls have pretty good taste! "Back For More" shows more 80s hard rock influences and I'm sure that fans of The DONNAS will love this one. You like 80s pop? Seems like the CHERRY LIPS do too, just listen to their Cindy Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" cover!
The vocals on this album are very good, and singer/guitarist Stefy is actually British so that can only help to promote this fun and promising debut album on an international level.
I can't say much about the album lay-out since I've got a promo copy, but I'm sure that most of you won't complain to have some "Mean Hot And Nasty" girls to look at as a bonus./Laurent.
