A band mostly influenced by 90s American indie rock, shoegaze and Krautrock. Don’t really know why they decided to send their CD to a rock’n’roll/glam webzine but well, let’s give it a try. First two songs are actually not bad in the style, PAVEMENT fans will probably like them. KILL THE CAPTAINS started as a psychedelic band in 2006 and you can still find traces of that in the ballad “Long In The Tooth” in which you can also hear a bit of JOY DIVISION in the vocals. The last song on here, “Fun Anxiety” starts like a SONIC YOUTH song but unfortunately quickly turns into something closer to post rock (a style that must be fun to play but most of the time boring to listen to at home, reminds me of jazz, too many jazzmen being musicians playing for themselves and their own pleasure alone.) They recorded these songs with Alan Smythe (PULP, ARCTIC MONKEYS) so the production is good as you can guess. Not a bad band in their style but I can’t really remember a song after a few listenings./Laurent.
