'Choregraphy Sucks'

Julian describes his music as “rock with a slam” and I see where the German rock’n’roller wants to take us with his second album. Think WARRANT’s “Cherry Pie”, ELECTRIC BOYS or a dangerous meeting between the BEASTIE BOYS and POISON. Julian did everything on this album, from singing, playing and recording the songs. As much as the idea of recording both guitar and bass is ok to me, drums are something else (maybe because I’m a drummer myself) and that’s probably why you’ll find a drum machine on most songs. Although, more songs with real drums would have been a plus to me, the drum machine works well on a song like “Sucker Punch” and its modern beats and sleazy heavy rhythm guitar reminding of MARILYN MANSON or even PEACHES. After listening to this album, you can only come to the conclusion that Julian did an amazing job on these songs since most of them have catchy melodies and great arrangements. From the funky metal “Oh La La” to “Give The Radio Back” (a song that all DEF LEPPARD fans will probably love), you can hear that Julian really worked hard on the songs to get the best of them in the end. Rock’n’roll boys and R&B girls can now get together on the dancefloor, isn’t it great?/Laurent.
