Little John Rocket

'Basement (promo single)'

posted 2008-05-27

Glasgow’s LITTLE JOHN ROCKET seem to get most of their influences from the 90s alternative/indie scene… On these two songs (“Basement” and “Forget About Us”), you’ll find a bit of DEAD KENNEDYS (the band actually already opened for the legendary American punk band) in the vocals, some powerful choruses and interesting melodies in both songs.
“Forget About Us” shows us how LITTLE JOHN ROCKET have their own idendity with an atmosphere that would be hard to describe, but probably something between GIRLS AGAINST BOYS and NO MEANS NO. As the band is singing “We Don’t Care That You Don’t Love Us”, the MANIC STREET PREACHERS (“Generation Terrorists” era) come to mind. We’ll keep an eye on this band for sure./Laurent.
