Five Finnish bands, each one playing three songs. This is a good way to know
more about Finnish rock'n'roll. The first band is SILVER CITY BANDITS, and
let me tell you that they really rock ! They play sleaze/street rock full
of energy and the vocals are pretty good. These three songs won't leave your
mind easily ! BURNING PIPE HARMONY are not bad but their style is not my
cup of tea. I quite enjoyed KILLING SPREE who are into punk rock'n'roll that
made me think about JEFF DAHL. UNSKINNY mix various influences, but it seems
like they've not find their own style yet (and it would help them if they
had a better sound.) The last band is called TOO SOPHISTICATED and they're
not very original, but not bad as well, I would say that there are Stiv Bator
and HANOI ROCKS influences to an extent in their songs. I'm sure that they
can improve themselves and do something very good. Maybe some of these bands
do not exist anymore ? But it's not a valid reason for you to avoid this
record. On the other hand, the SILVER CITY BANDITS songs could be the reason
why you should get this quickly. Laurent.

On this volume, you'll even find more Finnish rock'n'roll bands : NO DIRECTION,
SILVER CITY BANDITS, SELF-MADE ROCKERS, RMS (they'd rather appear on a metal
compilation), WOODROSE, STARHAGS, ROSY DREAM and KILLING SPREE. Those that
I prefer are NO DIRECTION (their name is not original but their songs are
catchy as hell !), SILVER CITY BANDITS (with a new singer, still lively !
In the vein of JUNKYARD), KILLING SPREE who keep on rockin' and ROSY DREAM
(a kind of mix between The QUIREBOYS and The MISSION. )Some bands such as
SELF-MADE ROCKERS (energy similar to The HELLACOPTERS) and WOODROSE (The
DOGS D'AMOUR are not that far) could do something very good, but unfortunately,
their production is bad. I could have liked STARHAGS if the voice had been
different. Anyway, if you already have the first volume, you'll love this
one, if you don't check out the instructions below.
