VANITY INK

Finnish
rock'n'roll bandits VANITY INK have a brand new CDEP out, so that
was the perfect time to have a little talk with Juha Bandit (guitar)
and Miki (bass) to know more about it and ask a few other questions...
Can
you introduce the band? Is there any special meaning behind the name?
Juha Bandit: Vanity Ink. Rock n´Roll from Helsinki Finland. Sam Junni
on drums, me and Make on guitars, Miki torturing the bass and Stiina
on vocals. We have recently released our debut CDEP ...Roadkills!
And what comes to the name, add vanity to ink and you´ll figure it
out.
2
songs of your CDEP were already on your demo, weren't you satisfied
with the demo versions?
Miki: Actually they are the demo versions. They are just remastered
and now they kick more ass.
Have
you played a lot of shows so far? How was the response?
Miki: Not nearly enough. The response has been good and very good.
The last gigs have been awesome! The crowd's been really involved.
The heat is on!
Juha
Bandit: Yeah the record release parties were magnificent!
There's
been more interest in 80s/90s hard rock bands since The Darkness got
big... What's your opinion on that?
Miki: Rather that than some eurodance bullshit.
Juha Bandit: I´m not sure if the Darkness have so much to do with
it, Everything seems to go in circles anyways. The Darkness could
be a fantastic rock n´rolll band for real. The irony and the spinaltapism
might turn toward themselves.
Do you have any personal favorite song on your
CD?
Juha Bandit: There´s five of them!
What
is the main difference between Vanity Ink and your previous bands?
Miki: We're having more fun.
Juha Bandit: Vanity Ink is now, active and ready to go!

Big companies start to sue individuals who burn
CDs while they are the ones who make and sell CD burners, CDRs...
What do you think about that?
Miki: I personally like to own a proper cd with booklets and everything
- not just a copy. Of course it's better to buy the record but I don't
mind if someone wants to burn a copy of our cd. The more people hear
it the better. Spread the word!
Choose between:
-Joan Jett or Lita Ford:
Juha
Bandit: Joan Jett! Rocks my world!
-Brides Of Destruction or Velvet Revolver:
Miki: Brides. I just got Nikki Sixx tattooed in my arm. Juha Bandit:
And he´s serious about that can you imagine??! I have seen them both
live in Helsinki and I dig both a lot. Don´t make me choose.
-The Misfits or The Cramps:
Miki:
The Misfits for the music, The Cramps for the looks and attitude.
Juha Bandit: Misfits for the skulls, The Cramps ´cause Glenn Danzig
has nothing to do with it.
-Axl Rose or Vince Neil:
Miki: That's a tough one... I think both are more or less assholes
but Mötley Crüe is one of my all time fave bands so I guess it's Vince.
Juha Bandit: That's a tough one... I think both are more or less assholes
but Guns n´Roses is one of my all time fave bands so it´s gotta be
Axl.
What are your projects?
Miki: No projects at the moment. Vanity is a full time job.
