A
FIVE SENSES FIST "When The Red Becomes Green" Demo
CD.
(official website)
SADMACHINA,
a French industrial rock band with female vocals have changed their
name into A FIVE SENSES FIST and offers us this album that has not been
released yet since they are looking for a record label. The NINE INCH
NAILS influence is still pretty strong on songs such as "Liar"
or "C.R.A.S.H". Most of these songs are quite enjoyable
but I can't help to think that this band can do way better. Maybe there's
just too many tracks on this CD (16 of them) because some of them almost
sound unfinished to me but that's something you often find in bands
using machines. Irae's vocals is a big part of the band's identity and
that's a good point in a world full of NIN clones. Male vocals would
definitely have put the band into this category whereas they can show
their own identity on a song like "The Classic Clash"
which is my favourite one. To sum it up, A FIVE SENSES FIST has the
potential to make it big but should just choose their best songs and
work on them a little more.

SADMACHINA
"Black and Bloom" MCD.
(official website)
This is the fourth demo of this industrial rock band from France even
though this is the first one I ever listened to. 4 songs that could
be described as a mix of early NIN ("Pretty Hate Machine"
era) and MANSON (for the metal guitars) with female vocals and sometimes
spooky goth atmospheres. Most lyrics seem to deal with introspective/personal
stuff and are as dark as the music and the demo's cover. This is quite
good musicwise and the band does a good job about their image; if you
need to see pictures and videos, there's some visual bonus on this CD.
Sure, this is not the most original band ever, but this CD is more than
enjoyable especially for those of you who dig industrial rock...SadMachina
should release their first full-length CD "The Seven's Time"
soon. So keep an eye on them. I will.
