ROCK'N'ROLL
MONKEY AND THE ROBOTS
"Detroit Trauma" CD.
(Drastic
Plastic records)
I can already hear some of you: "what a weird name!"... Well,
you're right, but what a weird band too! But well, I guess they're aware
of that fact since their biography describes them as a "Japanese
Elvis". Actually the first song ("Destroying Everything")
made me think about SONIC YOUTH. Some songs sound quite psychedelic
with a garage sound and I'm not a big fan of psychedelic and garage
rock but the songs with poppy choruses like "James Dean was
a Jerk" show us that the band can also rock in a more conventional
way. ROCK'N'ROLL MONKEY AND THE ROBOTS would perfectly fit as the soundtrack
of some B or Z movie if that can give you an idea. Fans of weird, crazy
rock'n'roll, this CD is for you!
