DEVILISH
PRESLEY
"Disgraceland" CD.
(Official Website)
This
is not the demonic duo's new album but their first one released in
2003. DEVILISH PRESLEY already had this glam/pop sound mixed to horror/sci-fi
rock themes. When I talk about pop here, I mainly think about a band
like PLACEBO (especially because of the vocals) but the female backing
vocals gives the band their own, unique identity. There are some really
good songs on this album and I can't believe I didn't hear about it
when it came out 2 years ago! Just listen to "Cover Version",
"She's Not America", "Alien Turf"
or the beautiful acoustic ballad "Pin Cushion Girl"
and you'll know what I mean. The T-REX influence was also already
a big part of the band (the guitar riff in "Saturday Night Satellite")
and I won't complain about it. Now get ready for their upcoming album!

DEVILISH
PRESLEY
"Hammer Horror Glamour" Promo CD.
(Official Website)
This is a single from their forthcoming album. This song is very catchy
and is an interesting mix of death rock and glam rock (the guitar
riff reminds me of the almighty T-REX) with female vocals and fun/horror
rock lyrics in which you'll hear about all your favorite rockstars.
This will sure make the dead come back to life and dance! I can't
wait to hear more 'cause I'm a little frustrated with just one song!
/Laurent.
