When and how did you start the band ? I formed the band in April of 1999 and then we got a deal a few weeks later and recorded the E.P. I already was friend with one of the guys and the others i met by going out or calling ads, its a long irritating process because so many losers show up answering the ads ..
There are various influences on your debut cd, what is your musical background ? I have always been into punk and glam and all that kinda stuff, usually not the generic shit that the radio and the masses always seem to like. There is some good stuff out there but when bands or people start trying to write music just to fit into a particular category because they think it is cool at the time or it is popular at a certain time, it's just not real, they can fool most the people but not all the people. I live life and experience life and i write about it ...the difference if something i write about seems cheesy or whatever i have actually done it its not a made up story so that's what makes it real no matter how you look at it, to me that's all that matters. I just talk about life good, bad , doesn't matter, its REAL.
One can feel a strong realistic aspect in your songs. Is this a conscious choice ? I guess i kinda answered this already ...it's not always a conscious choice. I guess i just talk my mind and if i've fucked up or did drugs or drank too much or saw someone die because of something they've done. I'm not embarrased about it.
Different kinds of rock fans can appreciate your music, have you witnessed that at your shows ? How are the reactions so far ? We have all kinds of people at our shows and i really appreciate it ....punks,rockers ,glam etc..etc...and they all seem to dig it and we can basically play with anytype of band, also we just come to rock and have a good time and when everyone else has a good time and people are lined up to get their Cds signed and show up early to meet us. That's just an added bonus and makes you feel real good about what you are doing. I really appreciate anyone that likes us.
According to you, what are the advantages and drawbacks of living in L.A ? I love Los Angeles, the weather is great ...but there is alot of fake people and people who talk about wanting to do something (musically) and that's all they do is talk, they move here and get distracted by all the other things to do ...or they have been here too long and get burnt out.
You thank God on your cd, many American bands (no matter the style) do that while you will hardly find a European band doing it (in Europe, most young people are opposed or just indifferent to religion.) Do you think that there's a special reason for this difference ? I thank god because am thankful for everything I have ...as far as everything the difference between here and Europe i don't really know enough about it to say.
Most independent American bands (rock, punk, hard core...) who come to Europe are always surprised to see that the people who organize the shows can provide them food, drinks, a place to sleep... Are the conditions so bad for independent/underground bands in the US ? Sometimes they are bad. They just take advantage of the bands here, sometimes they think you should feel privileged to play at their club but that's bullshit. If it wasn't for the bands, they wouldn't have a club but oh well that will never change .....actually some of the places i've played when i've been on tour were really cool and totally set us up.........if anyone out there wants to hook us up with some shows, we would be glad to come out there to play and check out all that hospitality......
What do you like to do outside of the band ? I like to do all kinds of stuff but I hardly ever get the chance because i am always so busy doing band stuff....
What are your projects ? Anything else to add ?
