BOOZED
'Seizin' The Day' (CD)
(Official Website) (Kamikaze
Records)
What is first striking about this German band is the young age of its
members, they're all around 19/20 and have played almost 50 gigs without
any album in 2003! Their young age may explain the abundant use of cheap
rock'n'roll clichés. But well, let's talk about the music:The
record starts fast with punk'n'roll songs in the early NASHVILLE PUSSY
vein. Then "goodbye" turns more into classical but
enjoyable hard rock as well as "Pavement Party" and
you can also find a song with a 70s feel ("Always Knocked Out").
I'm not too fond of the raw vocals on the long run, I would probably
have liked them better on a 5 song CD for instance. Anyway, BOOZED have
managed to put out a promising debut album even though I'm sure they're
better live. Fans of fast hard rock/punk'n'roll should enjoy.
