The
BLACK JETTS "Bleed Me" CD. Newcomers
from Dead Beat Records, the label of the awesome Sundays Drunks and
of the High Beams, The Black Jetts immediately reminded me of a rawer
version of the Richmond Sluts (probably because of the singer's voice
which sometimes is amazingly really close to Shea Robert's) and their
songs could only make me interested in them. Musically, this album is
however not that far from those of bands like The Preacher's Kids, The
Hard Feelings or the New Wave Hookers. They've got a good live reputation
and they probably wanted to recreate this live energy on the album,
which would explain the raw production of "Bleed Me"
and, songs like "Cheap Date", "Summer Girls" and "Rehab
Love" (my favorite ones) should give every "High Energy" rock'n'roll
junkie their needed dose for weeks.
