BABY
STRANGE 'Wanted Alive !'
(Contact & booking)
BABY STRANGE is back with a new line up but with an unchanged faith!
We can only witness that this member change didn't alter the band's
motivation at all and on the contrary, it gives them a new outburst.
RV and Tom, both founding members have indeniably found the perfect
match that should put them right into the lights. Besides a new version
of "Crap Generation", "Wanted Alive!" contains 4 excellent
new songs which even broaden the musical sphere of the Paris rock'n'rollers.
Indeed, even if we can still find the usual influences of the band,
songs like "Not Quite Dead" or "Christmas Time" remind
me of the early version of HANOI ROCKS (is there another one anyway?)
and are real treats to me whereas "Nervous Breakdown" is musically
close to the DEAD BOYS' universe. 5 or 6 songs more would have undoubtedly
made an exceptional album of it but let's enjoy this 'cause this new
release which has an appropriate production will handsomely satisfy
the most demanding listeners.

BABY
STRANGE
'Hot On Our Trail'
(website)
Brilliantly led by RV whose vocals sometimes remind me of Freddy Lynxx
but also Claude, the greatly missed lead-singer for SMACK, BABY STRANGE
explores all the different aspects of good old rock'n'roll on this album.
Nevertheless, one can feel a strong ROLLING STONES influence in most
songs. Like the CRYBABYS (John Plain, Darrell Bath)-another Action Records
band- BABY STRANGE offers us 9 various and enjoyable songs and treads
in the steps of Tyla, Nikki Sudden, CHESTERFIELD KINGS or CAPTAIN BLOOD
to name a more recent band. Very few bands play this kind of sweet and
dirty rock'n'roll in France and BABY STRANGE prove themselves as the
worthy successors of the BAD LOSERS who remain a reference in my book.
